I often return to floral imagery as a quintessential image of beauty throughout time. A primary influence on my work is my love of historic Dutch still life painting (specifically Pronks). I recreate these dense floral excerpts of the historic paintings using only porcelain and clear glaze. The decayed looking flora is void of color, speaking to the memory of the decorative paintings of the past. It is my memory of beautiful.
